Bill leads portfolio strategy, partnering, acquisitions, and new growth initiatives with Sonatype, a computer software company focused on providing open source Nexus solutions . Prior to Sonatype, Bill played a key leadership role in IBM’s progress in the cloud wars as GM of the IBM Cloud Platform, a billion dollar+ portfolio of IaaS and PaaS offerings. Prior to IBM, Bill was founder and CEO of DevOps innovator Zenoss, Inc., which raised over $45M in venture capital and reached #42 on the Inc. 500 list. In 2011, Bill was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the state of Maryland.

Bill began his career as a software architect with Accenture and was an executive with cloud pioneers Digex, Inc. and USinternetworking, Inc. Bill holds a BSEE in Electrical Engineering from Duke University.
